Hawaii (known as "the Big Island") contra dances are held from 7:00 to 10:00 PM the fourth Saturday of each month  at the YWCA of Hawai'i Island, 145 Ululani Street, Hilo (downtown, near McDonalds & Sack&Save) and feature calling by Cindy Holmes and John Barnes to live music by "Second String." Muscians are:  Kendal Lyon, fiddle, Carol Hocker, fiddle, Lon Hocker, upright bass, John Barnes, guitar/banjo, Steve Ryan, banjo/mandolin, Theresa  Jack, piano/vocals. 

All dances are taught, new dancers are  always welcome and no experience or partner is necessary. Please come on time and bring lots of friends!!! Visitors to Hawai'i are invited to attend. Your $7 voluntary contribution helps cover costs. Please bring a snack to share at the break and wear comfortable soft-soled shoes.

 will be March 8-15, 2008.
Wild Asparagus and George Marshall are all yours for an entire week of dancing at Kalani Oceanside Retreat in lower Puna on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

The Tropical Dance Vacation Hawaii English Country Dance Week 
 will be March 15-22, 2008.
Bare Necessities, Bruce Hamilton and Brad Foster will lead this week of dancing also at Kalani Oceanside Retreat in lower Puna on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

O'ahu Dances

The First-and-Third-Saturday Evening Series: 7:30-10:00 pm, on the first Saturday and the third Saturday of each month, at the Kapi'olani Community College Chapel on the mauka slope of Diamond Head (directions). There is a good wood floor in the KCC Chapel. No air conditioning, but powerful fans. Come about 7:00 pm for a beginners' session. $7 donation requested except from children and students. Live music by Whiskey Starship;

Dance Vacation Weeks in Hawai'i
